French accented characters not displaying correctly in Kaffeine

Hi - I'm using Kaffeine to watch Over The Air TV, but in the Electronic Program Guide that loads with each channel, for a French channel all accented letters are showing incorrectly (as a symbol, like an arrow, etc.). Is there a way to fix this? My system is set for English, BTW.
