Cannot boot after a new installation of the Boron release (Resolved)

I have installed the Boron release on a PC. Once installed, I reboot and I get the message:

>>> bootable devices -- strike F1 key to retry boot. F2 for setup utility.
>>> Press F5 to run onboard diagnostics.

I ran the onboard diagnostics and everything came up clean.

If I hit F1, the screen just refreshes itself and I have the same choice of F1, F2 or F5.

I looked at the setup utility, but I did not see anything obviously wrong.

I tried installing the Carbon release and got the same results.

I have done a number of installations of the boron release and this is first time I have had this problem.

Any suggestions on what I might try to get the new installation to boot up properly?

Thanks for any help!1

Regards,
Jim Anderson

Re: Cannot boot after a new installation of the Boron release (Resolved)

Good news and bad news.

The good news is that I tried F2 and played around and got the system to boot up. So I am closing this top.

The bad new is that I did so many things, I am not sure what fixed my problem. I am tempted to start over again and see if I can recreate what I did so that I can document my solution.

More bad news - once I have the system up and running the user interface is not working properly. In particular, when I push mouse buttons, the system does not respond. For example, if a menu comes up, and I click on an option in the menu, the menu does not respond. The mouse seems to be good for moving the cursor, but nothing else. I will be closing the topic and will open a new topic on that problem sad
