^ I'm in the minority, I think the Dead's studio albums are better than all the bootlegs. The shows are awesome but you had to be there.

Btw, Wake of the Flood, great studio album. Eyes of the World is particularly good.

Studio Dead cuts that I think are better than any live version...
Shakedown Street
Terrapin Station
Dark Star
Franklin's Tower
Yeah, all of them, except maybe Fire and Rain at SPAC (Saratoga Performing Arts Center) in 86 when it actually started drizzling.

Man, how good is Help On the Way, the first track on Blues for Allah?

Stick with the studio output, otherwise you get shit like this...

Pretty meh if you're a Deadhead, bleeding awful if you're not.

I'll give it to the Dead, this is what The Who was doing in concert that year (not particularly good)

The Who didn't release an album in 77, they released Who By Numbers in 75 and Who Are You in 78.

So, to be fair, Kieth Moon was on his last legs and the title track is the only track he played well on, and the Dead are... soft?
Much better from 77, Bootsy Collins

Don't let The Clash fool you, they are barely punk. They're about as punk as the first two The Police albums, very artsy fartsy. Listen to that mix, it's pristine. They are some world music hybrid thing, unique.

The Clash only had 5 other studio albums.
Give Me Enough Rope (78)

London Calling (79)

Sandanista! (80, a double album, and there best in my opinion)

Combat Rock (82)

Cut the Crap (85, nobody knows this album anymore)

Artsy Fartsy Punk Band Album Score
The Police: Five studio albums.
The Clash: Six studio albums, but the last is ignored for some reason (it went backwards, towards their earlier work?)
A tie.

Then Mick Jones released 9 albums as Big Audio Dynamite, starting with This Is Big Audio Dynamite in 1985

Buy some headphones. I use HD280 Pros by Sennheise, very entry level at $100 in the US, and they take a bit of playing to break them in...

If you want something for classical music at the save price, I'd go with Grado 60s...

Then you have the better Sennheisers, Beyerdynamics and whatnot.

I'd love a pair of 480 Pros, but $400 seeems excessive...

Until you realize you can plug these into a phone (maybe not, my phone has a headphone jack) and not have to worry about a $600 integrated amp, $700 bookshelf speakers and a $300 subwoofer that only plays a few notes but is essential.
