Re: Can't Connect Phone After Upgrade To Carbon

Does it need to be Bluetooth?

Can you connect the phone to the laptop with USB and use thunar to copy the files over?

I'll try that if I can find a cable with the right USB jack and let you know.  I assumed the USB port on the phone was for recharging only.

It's a data cable as well.

If gvfs and gvfs-backends are installed, thunar should see the phone similar to an external drive (xfe may not work if you're still using the retro IceWm setup).

When thunar recognizes the phone, a message will pop up on the phone asking if you want to allow access (usually the way it works). Allow thunar access and you can start copying files.

It can be, the kicker here is that sometimes the cables themselves are only set up to charge, no data. Found that out the hard way after fighting with it for half a day using a cable that was only for charging and not knowing about it, tried a different cable and it connected just fine. Just a heads-up.
