Can't Connect Phone After Upgrade To Carbon

Worked fine in Boron, though I think I had to change something in a file and I can't remember what it was.

Carbon is having none of it.

Re: Can't Connect Phone After Upgrade To Carbon

There is also gvs-mtp, although I do not see that in Debian.

gvsf-fuse maybe?

Description: userspace virtual filesystem - fuse server
gvfs is a userspace virtual filesystem where mounts run as separate processes
which you talk to via D-Bus. It also contains a gio module that seamlessly
adds gvfs support to all applications using the gio API. It also supports
exposing the gvfs mounts to non-gio applications using fuse.

This package contains the gvfs-fuse server that exports gvfs mounts to all
applications using FUSE.

In Debian there is also: gmtp - simple file transfer program for MTP base

Description: simple file transfer program for MTP based devices
gMTP is a simple and light-weight interface to the features provided by
libmtp, which allows users to manage the files stored on any MTP music player
supported by the libraries, including those with multiple storage devices
(e.g. mobile phones).

It doesn't provide complex features such as playlist management, it just makes
transferring files from and to devices easy, by allowing users to upload,
download and remove files on the device with a fast and easy-to-use graphical
interface.

Re: Can't Connect Phone After Upgrade To Carbon

Is this via the USB cable or KDE Connect? What version of Android? Has your phone had an update? Confirmed settings are correct in the Developer menu of your phone?

Whoops.  I'm trying to connect via Bluetooth.  I forgot to mention that.  The phone doesn't have an OS that I'm aware of.

Re: Can't Connect Phone After Upgrade To Carbon

It's pretty easy to find out what you're using.

We really can't help without knowing what your using. The version of bluetooth your phone uses as well. All of these should be listed in your phones settings app.

Is your phone anything like this?

https://www.spark.co.nz/online/shop/mob … pack052153

Model number of the phone would help. Do you have any other bluetooth devices that connect to the same bluetooth connection on your PC? Test something to see if it connects.

Other than that I have nothing else to offer sorry.

Re: Can't Connect Phone After Upgrade To Carbon

Do you have bluez  and bluez-firmware installed?

You may also need to add your user to the Bluetooth group.

It runs Android, of course...

mobiwirere.com/assistance wrote:

MobiWire quaterly releases firmware security updates on the devices listed below. These Quarterly firmware security updates are based on patches for Android OS related security issues released by Google.

So it should connect no problem, but it doesn't.

But... MarkW... what in the actual hell? You have problem after problem that nobody else has and when we try to troubleshoot you have no information. Are you being intentionally obtuse? Are you bored and this is a fun game for you? Please tell me that you're genuinely clueless and/or mentally challenged, that would be preferable to whatever this is.

Use another distro and post on their forums, I'm done reading your Help posts. "I think I had to change something in a file, but I don't remember what it was." "Oops, I'm using Bluetooth. Forgot to mention it." To paraphrase Leonard Nimoy as Spock at the end of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, "Go to Hell."

Re: Can't Connect Phone After Upgrade To Carbon

That's unfair.  There's absolutely no information anywhere in the phone's settings about what version of G it uses (3? 4?)  It's not even connected to any network anyway

I did finally manage to get it to pair with the laptop,  The problem now is that the pairing is one way only (laptop to phone) and I need to be able to send data from the phone to the laptop.  Also, just managed to get the back off and it;s a Pictor.

Re: Can't Connect Phone After Upgrade To Carbon

Not unfair, more like fed up. Pictor me not caring.

Settings>About Phone>Device Details>Android Version

Mine says 15, which is old. Yours says 10? And the website says no product available?

If I didn't think you were smart enough (I don't), I'd guess you picked this horse manure Chinese company just to mess with us.

Now kindly shut the hell up. I'm reading your future, it's saying "Mint".
