I was a #! user in the Corenomial days. I've been distrohopping but nothing ever stuck and I fondly looked back on the only times I didn't hate-use my computer. #! and BeOS. (It seems if I like something it is the kiss of death!)
I found bunsenlabs and hope I can catch the dragon again...
So far it is going well but am having trouble with my convertible laptop. The screen resolution is 3840 * 2400 and it is causing issues in my GRUB, sign in and lock screens. My primary issue is with the orientation of the screen (tent, tablet or traditional laptop) not being recognized.
I fondly remember the widget that had Statler or Waldorf popping in from the side with random comments. Does anyone know how to enable/install that? Google search hasn't served me well and the fact that the code names of the #! releases were also Waldorf and Statler has totally muddied the results.
I look forward to being a longtime user again.

Welcome BackGammon. Like you, I was also #! user in the Corenominal days and spent (and waster) too much time distrohopping, including Bunsenlabs, usually returning to vanilla Debian. However, in March this year, I decided to give Carbon a spin and like what I saw and how it performs. I love BL's openbox window manager and the keyboard shortcuts out of the box. For me, it's a keeper!

Welcome home! BL is a great distro that you'll love and it keeps to its #! heritage. As for the Statler widget don't think its around unless someone happens to have the code for it.

Welcome back @BackGammon!
That popup with random comments widget is still available, you just have to enable it.
In Autostart ( menu > User Settings > BunsenLabs Session > Edit autostart ) find this line near the end:
#(sleep 20; bl-fortune) &and remove the # at the start.
You might need to install bunsen-fortune, but it's still part of the default BL Carbon install.
