^ And Gaucho (1980), two recordings still regarded as studio mastery.

Aja (1977) remastered (for CD, early CD releases were notoriously bad. The Beatles catalog was junk at first.)

Forgot to post this yesterday when it came out. Madonna pre-album track, old school Euro dance...

It should have an epilepsy warning, but otherwise pretty great.

RIP Dave Mason
Really? Aww.
Keith Richards, Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Nick Mason...
Did anyone catch Robert Plant doing acoustic Led Zep live on one of the late night shows a couple of weeks ago? Freaking awesome...

Sting (age 74) is still doing Sting things, so that's reassuring...

Rest assured, his first song is the same as always, Message In A Bottle (artsy-fartsy old-man excellent version).
Those are some sensitive mics, literally (audibly) a shift of your pants gets picked up. Sting at 6:28 and then getting quiet at 6:42 without gasping for breath, superb.

Two years since Peter Gabriel released i/o...

Underrated project, I think the idea of selling an expensive sound system with it was a bit much. But even with stereo headphones and this YT link... wow. Incredible mixing. No transparency of the source material, everything is processed and some of that is processed again, the mixing console is another instrument controlling everything. He's 76 now, so 72 years old creating this? Amazing.

Interesting, the second part of that project by Peter Gabriel is supposed to be released later this year...

I don't know if Gabriel was influenced by this, but I hear "Somewhere Down the Crazy River" (1987) from Robbie Robertson's self-titled debut album...

*edit- Ah, it's the Daniel Lanois/Tony Levin/Manu Katché common factor. It's the same band as "So" by Gabriel, but a year later. I think Lanois also produced U2 Joshua Tree (I just checked, he did, along with Brian Eno), I can hear it.

Man, my friends gave me crap for listening to this ten years after it was released. Same fools who don't like the Bee Gees.
Wocka wocka!
