Sometimes tiling comes in handy, i use the non-automatic official as i see it more accurately than the automatic ones from 3rd parts.

GNOME, 3.3GB running FF, gnome-system-monitor, Nautilus, xfce4-teminal, gapless, conky clock, a scrot tool and some GNOME extensions...

Papirus Nord Aurora Green icons

Stock gnome-shell theme, the panel is the Dash-to-Panel extension (also Focus extension for transparency, Rounded Corners for bottom-rounded window corners, a few others)

Firefox with a few tabs open.

Plasma desktop with kitty and krita open comes in at 2.1 GB. Still pretty high.

No, that's fine. I think 1.7 is my average idle on GNOME, and that's with evolution removed and gnome-online-accounts sent to the bin. I assume you're running the full desktop. krita is light, but it's still a graphics processing tool, aka heavy.
