Since it's upgrade time, let me reintroduce myself: I switched to Linux in 2007 (oh my) and chose #! mainly because ... it looked cooler than anything I had ever seen on a monitor. Back then, I did not consider myself a computer person at all.
But #! and Bunsen made it easy (and sometimes necessary) to look under the hood and learn. It was such a pleasure to take some ownership of my machine and its software. Just a totally different feeling for a tool I worked with daily as a freelance translator. I picked up some basic scripting and over the years built myself an environment that makes my work a lot easier. (I even tried to teach my process to other translators, but everything is so difficult on Windows or Mac ...)
Another important thing is that BL is so reliable and hassle-free. Of course, I sometimes break things, but that always leads to more learning!
When I think of all the pleasure, ease, lessons and money saved, I can say that Bunsenlabs is in the top 5 of the best things in my life (girlfriend, children, bicycle, guitar, BL, there you have it). Thanks again for keeping this very special distro running and thriving. Btw, where is the donate button?
