When Carbon is released...

..will this then be installed automatically via the apt package manager?
What will happen to my current settings? I've made many changes to my configuration for visual purposes, e.g., bashrc, conky, openbox, tint2, custom wallpapers, including on the boot and login screens.
Will these settings be retained?

Yes an apt-update && apt upgrade will update your current BL install to Carbon.

I think personal configs stored on user directory are not affected. However, save your stuff to use later if something gets lost.
