some questions- new user

Hello.

I'm a new user of BunsenLab Carbon, and i like it. I've installed it on an ancient Lenovo 4 Gb of RAM. I've tried some others distri and maybe BusenLabs seems more adapted... But I don't know it...
May I ask something, please?

1/ I'm not so familiar with Openbox, and I would like to make my applications on a bord... Is it possible, because I cannot put some applications, there is no possibility?
2/ is there a possibility to lounch new walpapers...?
3/ is there a possibility to turn on and lock the numpad when I turn on the computer?
4/ is there a corrector for french language?

Thank you.

Best.

Re: some questions- new user

1. You can add application launchers to the xfce4 panel. Right click on the panel > Panel Preferences > Add items.

2. There should be an option in the menu for changing the wallpaper. User preferences.

3. Install numlockx and then add it to the openbox autostart file.

numlockx on

4. You mean changing the language in BL Carbon or this forum?

French your native language? Forum has a few users fluent in French if you want to post your questions in French.

Re: some questions- new user

Hello jgmenu, thank you for your answer. I'll try it.
My language is french and I've meant change the language on BL Carbon, and have the corrector when I'm writing a text.
I don't know how to put an icon of, for ex., a web browser on the clipboard (there is no web browser to add)...And I think there are very few apps to add...
Yes, if there are users with fluent french, it will be good.
Other thing, I saw on the net a way to do a "classical" menu (here on the forum), because at first seeing Openbox doesn't seems so ergonomic...but this is my opinion- of someone who is very novice.
What do you think?
Thanks a lot ;-)

Once you add the launcher button to the xfce4 panel, you edit the launcher properties and can select the icon from there. No need for clipboard.

Here are the basics for working with xfce4-panel with images - https://docs.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-panel/start
Hopefully that page will show in French.

You can edit the menu to fit your workflow and aesthetics. If you have an idea to improve the ergonomics you can make a suggestion here - https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewforum.php?id=13

Or you can make a thread in the Scripts, Tutorials, & Tips thread - https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewforum.php?id=9
to share your work.

Welcome to the forum.
