If people would know how little brain is ruling the world, they would die of fear.

Keith Jarrett 'Long As You Know You're Living Yours from Belonging, 1974:

He sued Steely Dan for copying this for Gaucho.
Note also Jan Garbarek on sax.
...elevator in the Brain Hotel, broken down but just as well...

^ LOL I did not know this! I hope he won (I'm sure it was settled out of court). Time to change my avatar and persona anyway. I'm a huge fan of (most of) My Song (1978, Keith Jarret with the same band)...

I say "most of" because my friends and I were listening to this on a boombox in the woods one night in the early 80s while the mosquitos were biting and some of the tracks were a little too on point.
I stand behind using no commas in that sentence.

Made me think of James Brown's "Hot (I Need to Be Loved, Loved, Loved)", a single from 1975.

Blatantly ripped off from David Bowie's 1975 hit "Fame", there was no lawsuit. Bowie was flattered, and in an interview he says "Well, mine was a hit."
It's a great version. More in that playlist as well.

A vastly different version of Jarrett's "Long As You Know You're Living Yours" as done by Steely Dan in 1980.

@vic, Donald Fagen - "Sunken Condos"
As a Steely Don Fagen fanatic, I'm embarrassed that I didn't know this album existed.
@hhh, that ´s cool, a great album in my opinion, because it feels so Dan-ish to me.
Here is something different, "Brooklyn Charmers" - "Only A Fool would Say That".

It flew under my radar, reggae drumming legend Sly Dunbar has passed.
