Re: What are you listening to right now?

Revisiting the Paris DJs, and the first one I hit:
https://parisdjs.libsyn.com/the-dreadle … xtape-vol1
"a fantastic one hour-long trip into DEEP DUBSTEP"

https://parisdjs.libsyn.com/

I found a really great mix I downloaded from them years ago - what would be the best place to upload something like that?

Re: What are you listening to right now?

Second thread I'm visiting tonight where the entries are great. Are planets aligning or something? Is it because I didn't spam the forums for one day?

MixCloud, the worst they'll do is bring it down, but we'll all have ripped it by then. https://www.mixcloud.com/

OHM Radio hosted some of my old shows there, and at least one that's all copyrighted music is still up...

https://www.mixcloud.com/ohmradio/dubuc … 8-8-22-21/

Black Uhuru, Bob Marley, Black Uhuru, no clue but really good, probably Mad Professor?, I'm even more clueless after that but I like it, the next is definitely Mad Professor, Mad Professor meets Pato Banton (with some sketchy electric fiddle in the background), the rest is all Mad Professor. I'm guessing I featured Mad Professor on this show. tongue Egads, that last transition is bad.

If your worried, email me the file and I'll post it. I've got no assets, they can bill me. TOHO Studios hasn't even complained about my Godzilla poster, what's the worst that could happen to me?

Nice, I found another old episode, maybe because it says it's been played once in 2 years. My last episode was Ep. 40, I think, so both of these are late ones. I like this episode a lot, as it's Fantastic Voyage inspired. LMAO at the corny intro...

https://www.mixcloud.com/ohmradio/duc_k … 34-2-3-23/

I'm fairly certain that was the only show where I didn't announce the station halfway through.

Fun fact! My vocals are recorded on a dented Shure MS58 that the production manager at the time gave to me, along with a Scarlett Focusrite interface for my laptop. The Shure is not a great radio DJ/podcast mic, but it's not the worst. It's been a staple of rock live-show vocals since 1966.

I love Debussy's music, and that's a beautiful rendition.

For some reason I was reminded of Santana's "Illuminations" album with Alice Coltrane. Doesn't this have something of the same atmosphere?

I happened to have an account already, and the mp3 had some metadata, so here it is:
https://www.mixcloud.com/Johnraff/riddi … a-foreign/
Hope you like it!

I downloaded a bunch of mixes from Paris DJs in 2013 (all made in 2011) and forgot about them till yesterday when I wandered into the directory, played the first file and really liked it. cool

If Mixcloud seem OK with this I could upload some more.

mixcloud wrote:

Since this mix was indeed publicly available from 2011 to whenever, it looks OK.

Ripping it, awesome. Keep 'em coming! Seriously, my cup 'o tea. Cheers.

Crud, typo on the file name. I never catch that stuff until I see it in the scrot, careless. It's a damn blender, hhh, duh.

Wiz, Black and yellow. Been a while. Busta Rhymes Break Ya Neck by Steve Fame? Nice, the transitions are quick.

"Dreidel", by Don McLean.  One of Don's lesser known songs, but still a good one;

I'll upload another one or two in due course, but want to listen to each  right through first.

There's other stuff in my music directories which is no longer downloadable, so I might have a look at that too. Fancy some Thai and Lao Morlam anyone?
