AS I said to someone who ridiculously asked me for ID, approximately 5 years ago (I am in my mid-40's, early 40's then), I removed my cap and asked, "would a 17 year old have this hairline?". She realised her error the moment I removed my cap.

The sarcasm was heavy.

But yeah, ID:ing people - but in the other direction:
There was a senior discount, and I asked if I should apply it to this person (wrinkles, kind-of old-looking). Got an angry "No!".
... it was a smoker. The kind with that "charming" grey-ish skintone. The variant that you can smell two meters away.

Since then, I try to assume people's age waaay less often.

This is me for 3 hours every few days. I'm a weird smoker, maybe one with coffee in the morning, none all day, then chain smoke if I'm drinking at the end of the day.
