Looking for CrunchBang feature: Menu searchs All folders and files

I'm trying to find a feature similar to the original CrunchBang(which used Openbox), where the desktop menu provided a direct way to search for and open any file or folder on the system. Instead of just launching applications, the Openbox menu functionality allowed one to search the root file system by hovering over the 'Places' section, where a list of directories opened, allowing one to "slide" through the different directories to get you to the file you were looking for ultimately. You could traverse the layers of file directories hierarchically, opening them.

Is there a built-in way or a recommended application in Bunsen to achieve this type of universal file search and launch capability of a file directly from the menu?

Re: Looking for CrunchBang feature: Menu searchs All folders and files

Hey there...

As far as I can tell, that funcationality still exists! I'm witnessing it right now on my own machine.

'Places' as the home user folder, right between Utilities and Recent Files.

If you're not seeing it, maybe you've edited your Openbox Menu?
