I popped open xcalc today and could barely make out the numbers and keys.
It actually looks better in an image than on my screen, go figure!
I did a search to find a way to make the text bigger or bolder and WOW!!!
I can't believe it's xcalc
The first was too small, the second is awesome and then the big 3rd one.
I'll stick with the 2nd geometry
Gotta remember I just had eye surgery - All good folks, all good!
~/.Xresources just added this at the end:

Thank you ARCH!

You can do a lot with the Xresources file for X apps. Basically one place for all X settings! At least you can now make adjustments for your eyesight, and my own sight is getting dicier as time goes on.

I've had eye surgery too (cataracts in both eyes). It was tough for a while but well worth it in the end. I hope your recovery goes well.

Update: I managed to break my usual reading glasses recently and am having to manage with a temporary and inferior spare pair, so I'm grateful for this thread (I've modified Xterm too).

@ CP Missed the second last post ....
Good to hear it. And yes, I now have reading glasses only and REAL sunglasses if needed.
ALL GOOD HERE!
