It's been the first of December for @Dobbie in New Zealand for a while now, let's get this last month going. All window managers, desktop environments and operating systems are allowed, and only mildly scoffed at on occasion. Please use thumbnail image links to full-size.

Trying a new extension, Tiling Shell, which let's you enable automatic tiling on GNOME. Here I've chosen a simple two window layout from the four defaults...
Then two windows get tiled (the left one opens second) and, on this workspace, other windows get cascaded after that...

Trying a new extension ...
Compiz has long been my favorite WM.
Thanks to the GNOME extensions, I was able to restore some basic effects.
If you want, you can try:
Compiz alike magic lamp
Compiz windows (wobbly effect)
Burn my windows
Transparent window moving
Coverflow alt-tab (switcher style cowerflow or timeline)
If people would know how little brain is ruling the world, they would die of fear.

^ Also a big fan of Compiz, but for these effects, not so much.
Magic lamp...

Very nice, but don't want it.
Wobbly windows...
https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/ … ws-effect/
Nice, not for me.
Fire...
https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/ … y-windows/
Good one.
Transparency when moving windows. I'm using incative window transparency with opaque active windows, by definition my windows are active when being moved.
Coverflow...
https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/ … w-alt-tab/
I might play with this one. Thanks!

^^^^ @hhh liking those yaru-yellow icons ![]()
Should we go for a carbon-yellow theme as well? Your call.
#!/bin/sh
echo '#include <stdio.h>\nvoid main() { printf("Hi, bunsenlabs\\n"); return; }' > bunsen.c
gcc bunsen.c -o bunsen
./bunsen

In an extras package, sure. Gotta make or find a good wallpaper to go with it.

Interesting idea there for a new package with various non-default theming.
Icons, gtk/ob themes, wallpapers all in the same package together?
Associated BLOB configs ( in /usr/share/bunsen/blob/blob ) so people could switch immediately to the whole thing might be fun too!
...elevator in the Brain Hotel, broken down but just as well...
( a boring Japan blog (currently paused), now on Bluesky, there's also some GitStuff )

My boron partition, new setup isn't working so great. I've installed boron and upgraded it to trixie/carbon, but bl-exit doesn't work, network-manager doesn't show in the panel... broken desktop, a bit.

BTW, for yaru-yellow dark themes and icons, you have to unpack the latest Ubuntu Oracular packages, and place them where appropriate. Yaru, Yaru dark and the new color...

^ Very nice.
With Yaru icon themes, you always get a great result.
The user-home.png icon may be missing in places (16X16)?
That icon is required in FM (Sidebar > Home (User) folder).
I added a custom one and it works for me (Nautilus).
I haven't used Thunar for a long time but I assume it's the same?

There will be a new upgrade of bunsen-configs for Carbon soonish. Maybe that will smooth over some rough edges.
(When you can find a moment, those light openbox Yaru themes are one thing that needs to be done before pushing out that upgrade.)
