4 Ways to Install Latest Firefox on Debian Stable [Tutorial]

I saw this tutorial today. The main thing that got my interest was its showing you how you can update your packages from Debian Sid very selectively, rather than all in one go;

Re: 4 Ways to Install Latest Firefox on Debian Stable [Tutorial]

It worked! I now have a fully functional Firefox 130.0.1 and am posting from it now.

Not without a hitch though; I had to install libcairo2 from the same repository before the installation would complete.

[Update: it worked with LibreOffice too. I now have version 24.8.1.2 up and working.]

I've successfully used the tarball direct from Mozilla unpacked into my $HOME/bin folder then made a .desktop file for it to appear in the menu.

Yes, that's another option (and thanks for replying). I must admit I don't know much about .desktop files so I googled them and found this thread on Reddit;

I might be a little off topic, but please read this:

Thanks marens, this is useful information. I think I'll stick with Firefox ESR for the time being then (it's fine for most sites, it's just a few local government ones where I've had problems with it).
