No, I figured this was a user issue because you don't like certain colors. It's not a usability issue, you can still see foreground/background. If it bothers you, switch themes. My recommendation...

sudo apt install yaru-theme-gtk

Light and dark themes with a variety of accent colors. No Openbox theme, but that's easy enough to create.

Respectfully, it would seem that not being able to read certain items of the UI without squinting would be the definition of a usability issue.

It certainly isn't a case of 'don't like that colour!'.

As I mentioned in my original post, I work in IT refurb & everyone in my workshop has had the same reaction, it's hard to read.
