No, I don't think it's gremlins but I'm experiencing something odd. (trying to keep a sense of humor)
Been having problems with both my laptop and desktop lately regarding both wifi and bluetooth
1. desktop, my bluetooth mouse and keyboard have gone ape sh@it. keyboard either repeats characters or just produces nonsense. I wish I had an old school wired keyboard and mouse but I don't. I'm sure I can find one and I'll try that out. Replaced batteries in both.
Wait, you'll see these things are related, maybe
2. My laptop won't connect to wifi, works fine with a ethernnet cable but wifi, no go. I do have a windows installation on this computer but it won't connect either. have been playing with keybinds, maybe put into airplane mode? but no hard switch.
Coincidences happen everyday and I know the installation of bl couldn't possibly have any effect on this situation.
Question, could this be some new (we've lived here many years with no problem) Strong RF signal interfering? Our home has zero cell towers or high voltage lines near, not even close. Some CB or Ham user perhaps with a 5000 watt amplifier? Maybe both computers poopooed on the same day, who knows.
By the way, all our devices have zero trouble connecting with either bluetooth or wifi. if anyone has an idea please let me know.
*update- laptop now connects just fine with router, still have problems with bluetooth keyboard and mouse on desktop. Again, all other devices in home work fine ie. tv, the misses laptop and their various wifi and bluetooth connections.
weird

What s your laptop & desktop specs, it might also help, we never know.
Was it working properly at install ! Or is it after reboot &/or updates.
Might also be that both installs are fighting each other as it did when I had both Linux & Win 10 installed on same desktop, I fixed that by having only one installed, or connected somehow in my desktop.
Is it after a fresh install ! Or after the lates update(s).
But it s the easy way around as someones here can work around issues like the ones I had.

Do you have any other known to you keyboards mouse that are working ! It might give a clue.

@altman, not sure really about the models of computers but both are only a couple years old. I've used linux for years (mint) for both recreational purposes and business. I really don't think for a second this has anything to do with BL but have a real suspicion that this is an RF interference issue.

No worries, It happened to me a while ago !
The mouse was kind of shot, luckily I had an el cheapo one from Amazon that a friend has given me.
Hopefully it will do the trick here.

Thx again @altman, my better half has suggested nearly the same thing (which is why she makes most of the decisions)

Was Mint installed and working on that computer?
Boot a live session of Mint and see if it's [still] working. May be a simple configuration that Mint uses, but BL does not. Or maybe Mint has the more current firmware required for the computer.
You must unlearn what you have learned.

Hi Packrat, mint has been removed from both computers. Again, I don't believe the installation of BL has caused this weird issue. The not connecting to wifi with laptop seems to have resolved itself. Works fine today. The odd issue with my desktop and bluetooth has not resolved. It's unusable. So what I thought was one problem (RF interference) maybe an absolute coincidence. When possible, I'll try to use a wired mouse and keyboard with the desktop and see what's up.
Thank you
I think I missed your suggestion, Mint really doesn't matter but will try the live session with BL and see if it's different. Again great advice and I really appreciate it @Packrat!

@Packrat, tried bunsen live and everything worked fine, so what's the next step-reinstall?

If it s your working pc I would do some backups if you decide to reinstall .

Reinstall is last resort.
Most likely need to tweak the configuration for your bluetooth. I don't use bluetooth, so can't really help you there.
Bluetooth Debian Wiki - https://wiki.debian.org/BluetoothUser
Do a search of the Debian forum - https://forums.debian.net/ - for your issue (you may need to create an account).

Thanks to all. Both laptop wifi issue and desktop bluetooth issues seem to have resolved themselves. Strange. Perhaps RF interference after all.

Happy for you mate.
The weird world of Linux, or it gets resolved after a reboot, as I had no sound weirdly enough this week on another install that I have.
After I checked mostly everything that I know of, I decided what it will do after a reboot it ! Guess what, it worked back.

Sometimes weird things happen. Thx for your attention and help @altman. You and others on this forum have been more than patient with me while I learn this side of linux. I'm very grateful.
