as root only Openbox, without bunsenlabs settings

When I log in as root, no Bunsenlabs configuration is loaded, only Openbox.   How can I start as root with the same wrapper as the regular user?
Thanks

Re: as root only Openbox, without bunsenlabs settings

That's by design, it's really not a good idea for the safety of your system to run a  GUI as root at all, at least leaving it a bare openbox session restricts the number of things that start so there's less attack surface for hackers & potential for catastrophic bugs to manifest.

There's a check made deliberately so that the script to do that only auto runs for non-root users & makes its checks or populates the user's home directory.

I'm reluctant to make suggestions in case they result in a borked-system, it used to be possible to manually disable the check by editing a file, though I think where has changed, I've mostly used old versions. The new script also does more & I'm reluctant to try it as root anywhere but a VM with a snapshot I can revert if it goes horribly wrong.

I'd hate to suggest "Try this to get around it" & you get a wrecked system by doing so, & it's not something I want to set up a VM & experiment with just to confirm any such suggestion works when it's not a good idea to begin with.

Why do you need a full GUI as root?

Maybe you have a sufficiently valid use-case I'll think it's worth the effort to do some digging & run the experiment. Maybe it'll even be valid enough for the devs to make an official way to do it, or disable the check.

I somewhat doubt it though, especially the latter.

If I was handing out free advice, I'd say just disable root login again & run with sudo as originally configured.
It's your risk & your choice if you want to run a GUI as root.

I'm torn between helping you get there or telling you if you can't figure it out, you shouldn't be running logged in as root.

No need to repeat what B_B said, he nailed it IMO.

And anyway @danielhb welcome to the community!

Ok, thanks for the quick response, I assumed that would be the reason but I wanted to make sure.
Greetings from Argentina to both of you.
