PLC application/CodeSys

Hi all,

Would anyone of you know if it's possible to install a '*.package' in BL? I'm trying to get CodeSys running, but all they describe seems to be based on a situation with installing WINE first, if I understand it correctly...

I have not found a free download option from this website.
If you have a .deb package, then you can use apt to test an installation. In the directory of the package:

sudo apt install -s ./package.deb

as simulation or, directly without -s. APT will tell you what is possible.

Re: PLC application/CodeSys

Hi unklar and HHH,

Thanks a million for your replies! I'll be sure to use the steps you've provided!

The URL links to a how-to including the installation of WINE. Obviously not what I hoped for... Linux being the powerful OS, shouldn't be dependent on anything as a Windows port to using applications.

Any alternative for a PLC IDE application is welcome.

Preface
CODESYS 4 Linux is just a small install helper, to install CODESYS on top of wine.

Re: PLC application/CodeSys

I'm sorry, but you have to read correctly!

1. this is an installation script to use additional M$ software via wine.
2. it says: "Warning!!! The information about this project is outdated. Since release SP17 the installation script no longer works due to the modularization of CODESYS."

In general: These installation instructions are 6 years old and refer to Debian 9.
We are at Debian 12 and no matter which installation is chosen, the installer of Debian 12 beats the one of 9 by far.

Re: PLC application/CodeSys

Oh okay, probably wouldn't have gotten it running... But hey, glad BunsenLabs runs effortlessly and smooth on my PowerBook Pro 2011, as the only OS. ;-)
