I've recently installed Arco Linux L (L for Large), which is based on Arch, and am impressed with it; it has some interesting software choices such as alacritty for the default terminal. The only problem I'm having with it is a glitch when I'm typing in alacritty (I have to type some letters in twice before they'll display, for example).

One good thing I noticed was that after I'd installed it the sound came back in Fedora, which I had assumed was broken; I can only assume it's a weird interaction between the boot manager in OpenSUSE, which wrote the grub menu it was booting up from before, and the Fedora kernel. Or something.

Yesterday my archlinux installation with KDE plasma (from 02.03.2015 ) was updated to plasma 6.

Today I realize with 'joy' that KDE still doesn't give a shit about the user's settings and flushes everything the user has created. This is exactly the main reason why I stopped using kde with debian...

Yes, my preferred option with KDE is to have it available for the software applications I use from it (such as the text editors Kate and KWrite) but run those applications from a different window manager or desktop environment such as XFce or Fluxbox.

In other news; I've just updated Voyager, which was a 409 MB download in total and so not so bad. I think Voyager is an underrated distro which deserves more attention than it gets.

Something a bit different here which some people may remember; I'm posting from Damn Small Linux (DSL) live, which in its current incarnation is based on AntiX and designed to run on very old computers. The browser (BadWolf) runs without Javascript by default and you have to enable JS if you want to use it.

Otherwise, most of the applications will be familiar to anyone who's used a distro designed for low-resource computers in the past; abiword, gnumeric, mtpaint (which I prefer to Gimp), mutt, xcalc etc. The default window manager is Fluxbox with a very cool burnt orange theme and wallpaper, but JWM is also available from the menu.

Mainly because it uses such small applications, DSL is one of the very few distros that can still be burnt to and run from a CD-R. Early days yet but I already like it a lot.

I have it multibooted on my "testing" laptop and it really flys on a modern pc. Very fun and interesting to play with. I dont rely on it for everyday use but it does work very well for a debian based distro in my opinion.

That seems to be the error, as discussed here before with @johnraff, when an 'Upload image' is made from Boron to Imgur.

I take it all back.

After 7 days and 5 times pacman -Syu, KDE actually uses my old settings again. Only kaffeine crashes after 2 minutes without comment.

I have no idea why that is.

empty the cache, remove all cokies, sometimes it works, then it doesn't work again

I don't know where this upload script is located in Boron, which I activate by right-clicking.

After one year of use Tumbleweed upgraded from Plasma 5 to Plasma 6. Everything went well with the refresh upgrade.

Okay, a few Plasma 5 things were leftovers watching by zypper pa --unneeded
While i was cleaning leftovers, thought i'd better start over. Firstly, i wanted to use the expert installation, but i don't have the patience buidling complete from scratch. With Debian it seems simpler, while in openSUSE it's a bit more complicated at least to me. Also, i don't have the blood of ten years ago that i spent sleepless nights.

So, i went for NETINST ISO and then Server selection.
Afterwards i installed KDE Plasma/Wayland standalone along with required packages and codes from packman.

Freshy from Yesterday.

I can say that it has been a good year with almost no issues for me Plasma 5.
Tumbleweed is a fine rolling distro. Let see how it will go the new release.
