Running Boron... I'm wondering why Thunderbird does not have the "official" Thunderbird logo in the Tint2 panel? It has a white and orange graphic instead.

@WolfeN,
This may be an outdated solution:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:linuxuprising/apps
$ sudo apt install birdtray

The application icons that appear in tint2 are determined by the chosen icon theme, and not necessarily the same as any "official" icon for that app. For BL Boron the default icon theme is Numix-Bunsen-Circle-aqua which inherits the Numix-Circle icon theme with an orangey Thunderbird icon. You can change the icon theme in Menu > User Settings > Appearance, but that will change icons everywhere on your desktop.

Ah, I ran into this too... Guess it's time to find out how to edit that icon theme to remove that ugly Thunderbird icon...

@Mx. Alba RE official TB icon
Download Logo (png) https://logowik.com/mozilla-thunderbird … 58151.html
rename it to thunderbird.png (Let's refer to it as #1)
If you do not want to touch system area you may download a popular icon set and extract to ~/.icons
e.g.
https://www.gnome-look.org/p/1012233
having selected Icon Theme in Appearance the ugly #2 TB icon is moved to
~/.local/share/icons/buuf-nestort/apps/thunderbird.png
copy the downloaded one #1 and overwrite this #2
Reload GTK from menu may also be needed. This example is a huge set of icons. Select a smaller one if it matters.

Thanks for the replies - I was able to fix it pretty easily:
- I'm currently using icon theme "Numix-Bunsen-Circle-aqua"
- as Root, I went into here (/usr/share/icons/Numix-Circle/48/apps/) and renamed thunderbird.svg to thunderbird2.svg
- I copied thunderbird.svg from (/usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps/) into location above

@WolfeN Thanks!

I ended up changing the icon theme to Papirus-Bunsen-bluegrey though. It fits much better with the overall theme, in my personal opinion, and doesn't significantly modify many branded app icons like Numix tries to do.

@Mx. Alba, I posted here...

Not a big deal, but in the future do what you did here and create a new post for separate issues. It's more search-engine friendly that way.
Glad you have things set up to your liking!
