Using Boron RC2 on a regular basis the last few weeks. No issues. Rock solid and no problem with updates.

^That's great to hear!
I think we should be able to get the official release out pretty soon.

My experience the same. Using for several weeks, stable. Reported the one problem I found, fixed!

Two weeks with Boron now. Have set up my personal preferences, nothing exciting, nothing weird, no problems, no frustrations, it just works. As far as I am aware of off course.

I think everyone on the team would agree that this is exactly what we want. Let people get on with their stuff.

No news in this topic is good news. Just waiting for the official release now so I can raise a support ticket with displaylink-debian so they'll support the latest BL release.

Downloaded and booted the live RC today. Just wanted to say well done and it's absolutely gorgeous!

To include in the menu for ARandR an additional 'help listing' that points to the information, locally or online, as is explained here to me;
https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic … 11#p129111
This because there are many, many distro's available. If someone actually tries out a specific distro first impressions are everything. When I install Debian in Virtual box the screen resolution is automatically good.
When I do the same with BunsenLabs it is stuck at 800x600 by default. (on hardware install is was fine automatically )
While BunsenLabs does not try to compete with distro's like MX Linux or Linux Mint form a GUI user friendliness I believe it is useful to make it as easy as possible for a new user to figure it out.

Um, @bunsenlabsbot says on X that it's already RC3. I somehow missed it here...
Complete the pattern, solve the puzzle, turn the key.

No, you have not missed it, it has not been anounced.
Yes, yesterday RC3 was upploaded for both 32- and 64-arch: https://sourceforge.net/projects/bunsen … files/isos
// Regards rbh
Please read before requesting help: "Guide to getting help", "Introduction to the Bunsenlabs Lithium Desktop" and other help topics under "Help & Resources" on the BunsenLabs menu

I think @johnraff intended it to just be tested privately, because there is really nothing preventing the Official ISO being released other than John checking his ISOs and then checking them twice. There is another thing, the website bunsenlabs.org has to be updated and that is a big deal, and he has nobody to help him.
No, he can't sleep on the floor. What do you think I'm yelling for?!!!

OK public announcement I didn't make, not because I wanted RC3 to be private but just because it would be available for such a short time and almost identical with RC2 - just a couple of bugfixes which people will get from package upgrades anyway.
I'll update the urls in the OP now.
The official isos will be pretty much identical with RC3, only the name will be different (unless a last-minute bug comes up). But yes the home page has to be edited too. I don't think it was hard, but I have to remember what was done for Beryllium...

Thanks, that's a good suggestion, but indeed a bit late now to include in the Boron release, which will go out very soon.
Let's think about a post-release upgraded bunsen-configs.

Yes, I agree.

Sorry I don't use Virtualbox, but on Qemu both Debian and BL behave the same way with regard to resolution. I have no idea why VirtualBox sets BL to 800x600 but not Debian. The systems should be the same in that department.

Tried enlightenment in Wayland on Boron RC3. Working pretty well. LXterminal was working - first time I tried it in Wayland.

I hate Wayland and the trend of every developer to get bored and try something new. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

^I'm not looking forward to the total upheaval that switching to wayland will bring to BL, but the impression I get is that X is indeed broken in many ways. A lot of it is above my head, but it does look as if wayland will be better security-wise.
Bit of good news though, just discovered today that Malm's labwc is on Debian Trixy:
https://packages.debian.org/trixie/labwc
Congrats @malm!
Could this mean a BL Carbon wayland-based? Let's get Boron out first anyway...

So true.
Were you using Linux back when Xvesa was going to be the new replacement for X11? It just faded away. Unfortunately, Wayland has not. Of course, Xvesa wasn't a Redhat project.

I got introduced, or enabled, to Linux when Wubi was a thing, back on Windows XP, which worked great at the time. On an EMachine.
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wubi
NVidia graphics card, 1G RAM. No power supply issues. That cheap computer ran great with either OS in it.

I miss Windows XP. The Windows updates weren't as lengthy, back then. Now it takes an hour sometimes. AVG, anyone remember that antivirus? There was a program that gave you virtual desktops on XP. Good times. Finding out about the black XP theme. what was that named? Royale Noir, in your face, Tarantino.
