WARNING do not update your kernel till 'apt policy linux-image-amd64' shows 'Candidate 6.1.67-1 '.

After every `apt upgrade`, I am seeing an initialisation error of randr:

`RANDR Query Version' returned error -1
Initialization of randr failed.

I'm not sure why randr would be trying to re-initialise after an upgrade of the packages, but whether it should be or not, this seems backed into the upgrade script.

@jimjamz are you getting that radr error message after running 'apt upgrade' in a terminal? If so, there's no BL script involved.

I tried a quick search on that error message and everything that turns up seems to be related to 'redshift'.
You might want to look into that.

You might want to look into that.

Yes, John, you are correct.  The error is displayed even after an `apt update`.  Purging redshift and trying `apt update` again, the randr error is no longer displayed.  I wasn't seeing this when using redshift on Lithium so I assume something has changed and will investigate this separately.

NOTE: there are now Release Candidate isos available, so if you're making a fresh install they are recommended:

But there's no need to re-install a current Boron system - just updating the packages is enough:

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
