jgmenu "menu_radius" only exposes a black background

When I set the menu_radius, the menu does indeed reflect the change. However, I expected the now-missing corners to show transparency and thus whatever screen was behind the menu.  But instead, all i see is a black color.  It's as if there's a background layer behind the color_menu_bg.

i created a screenshot, but apparently I can't post the imgur URL here.  How to I make those transparent? Thanks!

^Hi wigwami, and welcome to BunsenLabs!

1) You'll be able to post links after you've posted a few more times. Not long. smile

2) Maybe you have composition switched off? It's necessary for transparency behind round corners. Install picom if you don't have it and check your ~/.config/bunsen/autostart to make sure it's enabled, then check menu>User Settings>Compositor.
Is your system 32bit? Picom should be enabled by default with amd64 systems.

But once picom is running you can enable round corners on all windows without changing the jgmenu settings. menu>User Settings>Compositor>Edit Compositing Settings and set corner-radius to something.
