How to set mini-DLNA up?

Hi

I've just installed mini-DLNA on Bunsenlabs (Beryllium) which runs on one of my old laptops. I need a DLNA server for my Smart tv. Not sure where to start to make it work properly.
Could you help me with that please?

Thanks

You didn't mention what TV you use, the most popular is currently Roku...

Do a web search for your specific TV platfform.

I don't know if I can install Roku on my smart TV, probably not. The Plex app already runs on it anyway, but I want to get rid of it and use just DLNA to stream media content.

Thanks

Re: How to set mini-DLNA up?

Roku is a smart tv platform, like Google TV, Apple TV, webOS, Fire TV, Vizeo Smartcast, etc... you can't install it onto another smart tv. I just used that as an example, your platform (and you still haven't said what it is) probably has a help page on setting up DLNA.

I haven't used DNLA, but I do use Plex. If you have that working, why not use that? Just be sure in your Plex account to go to Settings (wrench icon, top right)>scroll down in the left pane to General>Plex Web>Quality>Home and check the box for "Use recommended settings", that will play your media at original quality.

Also, you can use your Plex server as a DLNA server...
