Re: HOW-TO set up an experimental BL Boron system on Debian Bookworm.

^Thanks for catching that!
fbxkb seems to have just been removed from Bookworm:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugrepo … ug=1035584

I'll take it out of the metapackage lists now, and re-upload so the metapackage install should work tomorrow.
EDIT: uploaded now, so it should be OK.

Alternatives are available.

Suggestions for replacements for fbxkb will be entertained. smile

Re: HOW-TO set up an experimental BL Boron system on Debian Bookworm.

A keyboard indicator is not used in the system tray,  so do we even need one included in the default install?

Agreed and haven't really seen one in use on the previous BL releases so perhaps leave it out for now at least.

Re: HOW-TO set up an experimental BL Boron system on Debian Bookworm.

fbxkb was a legacy from CrunchBang, a very small package so it was left in, even though not used in BL. Now it's gone it's gone. If there are calls for a replacement then we could look for one.

Re: HOW-TO set up an experimental BL Boron system on Debian Bookworm.

can it still be found in s.d.o? User will then have to manually grab and install that package and not sure how long it will work afterward anyway.

Re: HOW-TO set up an experimental BL Boron system on Debian Bookworm.

One other installation issue I ran into using this method with RC4: in /etc/apt/sources.list, the first line that references the installation media is not commented out and has to be manually modified - otherwise apt update fails unless the installation media is available.

This was RC4 of the Debian Installer? If so I guess it will have been fixed for the Bookworm release.

There is
    packages.debian.org/bookworm/gxkb
with some flags missing, but that should be easy to fix, either at Bunsenlabs or individually.

^Yes gxkb looks like a possible replacement. Thanks!
