hi all !
Lately I am having problems with Compton, the transitions in windows are slowing me down and I need to reset Compton. According to github the latest commint is from 2017.
Is there any alternative or is it advisable to disable it ?
thanks

Try xcompmgr (very old school) and/or picom (compton replacement)

how to ?
Upgrade or reinstall latest (Boron). Running oldoldstable debian is no good idea.
is it advisable to disable it ?
Why not test? Compton is in no way any essential component. In fact, I have disabled compton on my desktop with a quad core AMD FX-4100 3.6 GHz and 12 GB RAM...
