Live CD just reboots my computer

Hi fellow Linux users,

I've been having this problem, for years actually, where I download an .iso image then burn it to a disc; then pop it into my computer and when I try to boot into a live environment or an installer, my computer just reboots. And it just happened again with the Bunsenlabs image that I want to install pretty badly.

My computer is aging. It has an AMD CPU, and AMD GPU, and 8gb of RAM. But I intentionally got an AMD graphics card so I didn't have to deal with Nvidia.

Now this happens to me with most distros, since it's not a Bunselabs isolated issue. openSuSe just reboots my computer, but GeckoLinux(in my opinion openSuSe done a bit better) will boot into a desktop and install just fine. Artix, the distro I'm currently on, boots up and install just fine. And artix doesn't use systemd, so you get a choice of three init systems. I downloaded a burned all three .iso's and all 3 booted. But Arch Linux wont' boot for me. Last night and download Lubuntu. It booted up just fine into LXQT, but an Ubuntu or Debian image will just reboot my system.

I really want to get back to a Debian based system, cuz eventhough Artix is pretty damn great(lightweight and fast), it's only a matter of time before the system goes #! due to  a user error(me). So I want that stability.

Has anyone came across this before? I just don't know what can cause it. Someone in a different forum said it could be a driver issue. Which it very well could be. But how do I solve it?

Anyways, if this has happened to anyone else or if somebody knows how to solve my problem. then I would really appreciate the help. If you need any other kind of info then just let me know what you need.

Thank you

Re: Live CD just reboots my computer

Might not necessarily be an issue with Legacy vs UEFI.  I've been mucking about with a portable BL OS on a USB drive lately.  I was at a friends work and was going to show him it, but it kept on rebooting.  I asked if his was UEFI and it was(I had my setup as a MBR/Legacy install).
I had an 'image' of the BL OS on a ventoy drive and it couldn't boot either.  I notice you mentioned that your computer is aging so that's what I'm suspecting.
