Did you know that you can change the appearance of Firefox and Thunderbird without addons and themes?
If you are interested, learn from the great masters:
Firefox:

https://github.com/MrOtherGuy/firefox-csshacks
Thunderbird:

My Firefox and Thunderbird looks this after many years of learning:

^ And you had a good time doing it; that's what matters. Nice.

You are right, but it is not easy to wait for every upgrade.
Mozilla developers are always changing something.
Anyway, sometimes it's fun.

Nice conky and it fits well with any wallpaper you throw at it no doubt!

Nice themes for FF and TB, but sadly yeah the Mozilla devs will make changes that can break them thus you'd always have to go tweak the CSS on every upgrade.

Yes.
This is exactly what I have been doing for many years.
It gets easier over time.
My hobby is editing gtk3 themes.
Without GtkInspector and knowing CSS it is not possible, so I have a lot of experience.
Firefox also have good dev tools.

I use a pretty heavy css customised Firefox and so far haven't had a single issue with any Firefox upgrades. I suppose I am just lucky.

Probably, yes.
Some parts almost never change, unless you have a tectonic upheaval like switching from photon to a proton UI.

Mozilla has done major UI changes before and I'm sure they may do so again.

That's for sure, but ...
When I think of IE and M$, everything else is good.

Speaking of Firefox, Mozilla has released an "Official" deb package, finally...
No, he can't sleep on the floor. What do you think I'm yelling for?!!!

That's nice and bet Mozilla devs learned from the Debian team how to make a proper debian package I hope. May try this in a VM to see how cleanly it installs/uninstalls.

Like M$ did with Edge too. Great to see IE finally given a decent burial.
