Hi,
got a little graphics issue & don't know much to nothing about the entire graphics thing, so I'm looking for some input here...
I had a system set up with an AMD graphics card (Radeon HD 7870, if I remember correctly) and the AMD driver... 1-2 weeks ago, the card kicked the bucket, so I decided to get a replacement card very similar to the old one, hoping I could just switch the hardware without having to tinker with the driver.
Some basic info:
VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Curacao XT / Trinidad XT [Radeon R7 370 / R9 270X/370X]
Subsystem: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. [MSI] Curacao XT / Trinidad XT [Radeon R7 370 / R9 270X/370X]
Kernel driver in use: radeon
Kernel modules: radeon, amdgpu
It basically works too, but ever since the switch I keep randomly getting very short (fractions of a second) screen black outs, every couple of minutes, and was wondering what might cause this... any ideas? And specifically: Is this a warning sign of sorts of more serious problems or can I just ignore it? It's a bit annoying, but no big deal...
Thanks in advance...

Well, I guess you are going to have to "tinker" with the driver.
Debian 12 Beardog, SoxDog and still a Conky 1.9er

Try:
- re-seat the GPU, that is, unplug it from the motherboard and plug it back in
- try another video connector on GPU
