Garbled Screen while Trying to Install Beryllium on HP EliteBook 820

The live system works just fine, but as soon as I reboot and want to install, the screen gets unreadable, no matter whether I chose the text or the graphical installer.

Here is, what Xubuntu, which is running on the same hardware without any problems, tells me.
