[RESOLVED] Need help with jgmenu

Hi, I need your help with a problem (bug?) with jgmenu.

Recently I had this strange thing where a software I had installed was listed two times in jgmenu. It was a duplicate with identical name, but while clicking on the first made the actual software open, clicking on the second nothing happened.

Now I uninstalled it and the first entry is gone, but the second, the "inactive" one is still there. So I have this software listed even if I uninstalled it and clicking on it does nothing.
I searched everywhere in my path (jgmenu takes the entries from there, right? I'm not completely sure actually) and there are no traces on it and dmenu find nothing if I search for it, so I think it is a jgmenu-related problem.

Can you help me removing this entry and understand why it's happening?

Thank you.

Check in /usr/share/applications

That's where the system-wide *.desktop files for launching apps from menus are stored.

Which application was listed twice?

You must unlearn what you have learned.

There are three sources for the application entry in jgmenu (in default BL installation).

1. File ~/.config/jgmenu/prepend.csv.
You have an menuentry under Preferences > jgmenu > Edit Menu content, to easy edit the main jgmenu.

2. "Pipe-menus", called from main jgmenu.
Command " ls /usr/bin | grep pipemenu", will list them.

3. Desktop files in directory /usr/share/applications.
This menu, is docked to jgmenu => Applications.
It is dynamic (new applications are auto-added to the menu).

If you install nicotin with a deb-package, the package will add file /usr/share/applications/org.nicotine_plus.Nicotine.desktop. The menu-entry, does not start with N...

Marking this [RESOLVED].

I don't care what you do at home. Would you care to explain?
