Removing Google Widevine

I installed Google Widevine by mistake from a streaming website. Since then I've been trying to remove it from my browsers.

Brave:

sudo rm -rf .config/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/WidevineCdm

Firefox:

sudo rm -rf .mozilla/firefox/xxx.default-esr/gmp-widevinecdm

The files and folders get deleted, but when I restart, they appear again. Also, chrome://components and about:addons show Windevine Content description module.

Re: Removing Google Widevine

Maybe you have the Widevine main component saved somewhere else so that Browsers find it again when restarted:
for example I've found it into /opt/google/chrome/WidevineCdm ; so try searching for Widevine files everywhere and then delete all istances of it.
