Switching between multiple and single montitors? (Laptop)

So now that I've got Beryllium working I'm trying to find an easy way to deal with switching between home, where I plug in my laptop to an HDMI monitor, and on the run, where it's just the laptop monitor.

I know I can use ARandR to control the displays, but I'm trying to find a method that will respond organically when I insert and remove the HDMI connection.

As-is, the system doesn't respond automatically. In fact, it thinks the display is still there and because I set it to primary, ARandR and any other new windows open there.

I'm trying to find the best method to deal with this!

Would it be a matter of reloading a config, or something?

I think I would solve it so. With ARandR, create script for screens home and one script on the go.
Bind suitable shortcut for the settings, in ~/.xbindkeysrc, for fast switching
