Hello everyone ^^
I just wanted to add my voice into the mix, I also really like the Discourse forum platform, it has a lot of plugins and potential to offer on the backend and I also really like the possibility to install it as a "web app" on my linux laptop, so I can have it as an "application" in the jgmenu launcher.
The ability to let more active users help manage the moderation is also a really nice feature in my opinion, can take the load off the other forum admins and moderators if there is only a few.
(Frequent user of multiple discourse forum's; Nextcloud, Caddy, Algorand, Meta Discourse etc.)

For a while we will stay with FluxBB, but updated to the final version 1.5.11, and with addons removed to keep it simpler and more secure. That will mean no PMs, but there is an email sending mechanism. Archlinux forum is like this.

Once things get re-established, we might recruit one or two more active users to help with moderation, especially if the forum gets busy.

^Sigh... you can see the well-intentioned thinking behind it, but I really don't think there's any realistic solution beyond a nationwide global database and some biometric identity check, made proof (how?) against people swapping the keyboard seat. Another 10~15 years and maybe the world will be like that anyway. There is already at least one country I can think of where anonymous logins are not allowed.
The Information Age is throwing up problems one after another which our social & legal systems are struggling to keep up with.

Sounds like a good idea to me. No, I am not promoting myself.
