Re: New ISO build to try.

^Soon, really.

But... just install the experimental packages on Bullseye for that matter. The bugs will be exactly the same!

The only new ones introduced by the iso will be related to the installer which is 99.9% the Debian Installer.

Re: New ISO build to try.

New release Lilidog-amd64-22.06.11  https://sourceforge.net/projects/lilidog/
As usual, Minimal and i386 follow.

I wanted to address some of the more immediate concerns brought to  my attention recently, so I made a few changes and added a couple of items.

The addition of a timezone changer to the right-click option in the tint2 clock. Moved the timer to middle-click. This is pretty nifty to have!
Created a fontsize changer to change system, Openbox, terminal, and Geany fonts on the fly. This is located in the "paw" of the tint2 panel as Fontsize Changer". Tint2 not added.
Changed all system and Openbox fonts to Noto Sans.
Adjusted the "Reset to Default" script to include the new font type and size changes.
Changed a few more icons in the menu to better reflect the applications.
removed a level of nesting for the Browsers Install menu.
New wallpaper Lightslate.
Removed Mousepad and made Geany the primary text editor.

The fontsize changer should make new computer setup a breeze.  It just adjusts all the fonts one step at a time for three steps in either direction. (larger and smaller.) I left tint2 alone in this case, but may make a changer there as well for the tint2 options menu located in the tint2 panel.
Should have a new and improved main theme next round as well. Thinking something more colorful for a change.
Couldn't change the mousepad font on the fly.  If someone knows how from the terminal, please let me know. I use both geany and mousepad together frequently, but thought that probably nobody else does, so I got rid of mousepad and adjusted everything in the menu to use Geany.

Re: New ISO build to try.

Which application(s) require qt5?

Been making some custom builds and want to decrease the size of the iso a bit. I don't need smplayer; that was the only gt5 app I saw. Any others?

screenshot or it never happened:

Re: New ISO build to try.

^ Ack! Somehow missed this!  Beautiful bear:)

As for qt5, it seems maybe it was luckybackup, gammy, and something else? Could be I can do away with it if it's not found necessary.  Let me know over time what you find please big_smile

Re: New ISO build to try.

New release Lilidog-amd-22.6.20    https://sourceforge.net/projects/lilidog/

This is the second part of a two part release intended to address some of the issues reported to me recently.

So whats new?

Two new complete themes, Oceanic and Crimson. These of course contain themes for gtk, Openbox, Geany, and xfce4-terminal.
Switched the total theme layout in Lilidog to Oceanic, A quite dark bluish theme.
Changed the "Extras" installer menu over to a combination yad dialog and @Johnraff's excellent popup script for choice selection.
The selection for the "Extras" installers is Still in the same spot in menu, just now in a separate, moveable, yad dialog. Thanks @eight.bit.al:)
Multiple small fixes for opening root applications.
Added Mousepad back into the menu, but not as the primary text editor.
Small script fixes for changes made.

Change the theme to any of the available system themes in three clicks, for everything.  Go to the "paw" in the tint2 panel to set your fontsize, and your theme.  Keep an instance of thunar and a terminal open during changes to see what you would like to use!
Make further theme changes from the same "paw" icon. Use the "reset to default" button if needed.

Check out the "Toggles" section of the menu for some more system settings, and look in "Install extras" for a bunch of installers ranging from Google Earth and Virtualbox, to Nvidia and Discord.  Good Luck! And please let me know of any issues.  This was a pretty big change for a release.

Re: New ISO build to try.

@sleekmason - since I've cloned your repo, a simple "git pull" should update everything, correct?

That is the intended function, but I honestly haven't had the need so don't know!  I would think doing a "sudo lb clean" followed by a git pull should work just fine.

Lots of changes. Can't wait to check it out. SF is slow as molasses in winter, today.

Re: New ISO build to try.

The installer dialog is a huge improvement. Very professional looking.

The "Add Backports" messes up the icon alignment; consider moving it under the "MISC" Button.
And:
Consider changing the "MISC" button to "System"

Consider changing "Auto Gen Menu" which isn't very descriptive to "All Programs".

Continue to polish your diamond.

Thank you!  I will take your suggestions to heart.

It is no problem to widen the icons out to accommodate the "Add Backports" entry. Makes sense to me.

"All Programs" it is for the auto generated menu.  I couldn't think of a decent name!

Same thing with "Misc" in the installers menu. "System" sounds better there.

Thanks for taking the time to look.  Already composing a list big_smile

For everyone, All suggestions welcome. Sometimes it's hard to see the forest through the trees. I'll take all the extra eyes I can get!  Bullseye point release #4 will be around or on the 9th of July if I read correctly.  My next release will just be an update release for the Bullseye point release, and any other problems or suggestions found before that time.  List away!

Less menu entries is better. Less to be overwhelmed with. Move Add backports to the MISC menu area and rename MISC to SYSTEM

Re: New ISO build to try.

^ Was fixing it while you were posting.  smile  *Side note - Changes already made and pushed to github. I also shortened "Add Backports" to just "Backports" and placed below "System".  Looks sharp!

Re: New ISO build to try.

^^ You are saying add it to the System section.  I see what you are saying.  That works for me.

Has the new version got git added to it? That's very useful when you're installing and compiling new software.

No, not already installed, but there is a convenience installer in 'System', in the 'Install Extras' dialog called 'Live Build Apps Installer'. This one installs git, live-build, and openssh-sftp-server. Basically, it's for those wanting to use live-build to build Lilidog or some other distro, or start a spin of their own. I use the ssh server to upload to sourceforge. It is only 140KB installed, so I keep it as a part of that installer.

I'd put git directly in the install list but its around 35MB installed.  Just a bit too big to throw in the mix on it's own.

New release Lilidog-22-07-04  https://sourceforge.net/projects/lilidog/

Changes include improvements to the menus and scripts, and a load of wallpapers to make things a bit more interesting.
