videoplay

Good afternoon, I have recently had problems watching some video on my PC with this operating system. Now just to pass the time I downloaded ArchKraft Xfce and Voyager this last one from Xubuntu and I was surprised that the problems were not repeated when playing videos, that is: SMPlayer opens in SMPlayer and not in mpv, mpv plays normally and not a giant image, VLC does not crash. I make this clarification because maybe it has something to do with the software that handles the videos and could be solved in the same way for Bunselabs. Not a programmer so I make this clarification here in the hope that in the new edition of Bunsenlabs these problems, which do not occur with all the videos, are not repeated.

Re: videoplay

I'm not aware of anyone else having these problems, I do wonder since you had issues with permissions causing pdf readers to misbehave if other permissions in your home folder maybe got messed up somehow or whatever messed up the first lot somehow broke the install in other ways.

Since from the content of that thread you're clearly using Lithium (deduced from kernel version), I wonder if a fresh install of Beryllium as outlined here might not solve all your issues.

That would show if the problem would happen in the next version or not.

To be honest I think your install has got damaged somehow, otherwise lots of people would be reporting similar problems with video play.

If there's an obscure or silly way to break it, but you don't know what.. Just ask me
