How to get flatpak app icons to show on tint2

I installed an app with Flatpak and added the .desktop file to /usr/share/applications/ so that it is recognised by jgmenu. When the app is opened a generic application icon is shown on the tint2 panel. Do I need to put .desktop file somewhere else to get tint2 to find the icon?

I don't think tint2 looks for the task icons.  I remember reading somewhere that the task icons are provided by the application.  There's an old post in these forums by a tint2 developer saying to use the ALT+TAB window switcher.  If the icons look the same as in the taskbar then it's not a tint2 problem.  If they look different, it is.
