Hey, we're getting close to releasing our newest ISOs, and we have themes and walls but not a consensus. Here's a proposal that's gaining some traction...
https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic … 62#p118762
John and I agree that the color scheme is sweet but the wall is just a bit... odd?
I'm hoping our forum can help here, break out your GIMP and your Inkscape! Here's the wall as it is...

To be clear, we love the navy background and the colors but we want to lose the shield for something else. Submit your proposals, if we use yours we'll give you full credit, of course.
Here's the BL flame/text logo, for convenience, though it certainly isn't required for a wall to be considered...

Thanks, everyone!

Sorry, isn't it a little too close to :
I mean, it doesn't matter. :-) There is no perfect desktop,
especially for this crowd, it's gunna get tweaked. Just put
some clothes on it and send it out the door.

How about shipping a plain one-colour wallpaper image (same colour as Debian Bullseye) with no decorations at all? (Could be a small tiled image for that matter.)
But keep the theming, colour schemes etc as in @hhh's post.
Or... a rather small BL flame somewhere unobtrusive?

It's directly derived from it, it's the login wall with the Debian branding removed. Keep the color scheme to align us with Bullseye, lose the shield to distance us from Bullseye.

I think it would be a shame to lose the #! flavor. One of the things I like best about BL is its minimalist look and consistency. Debian's look is fine but it does not enhance the BL brand. (just another personal, unwarranted opinion)

FWIW I use tools like the following to generate color palettes.... There are bunches of them around:

Pretty much.
I actually like both of them.

I third that. Those are in keeping with the simplicity of the older BL themes so these 2 are good candidates in my opinion as I like the dark blue for a dark theme and maybe why not a lighter blue for a light theme?

Maybe a sky blue for the lighter background for the Beryllium light theme?

FWIW I liked the simplicity of the flame-only logo:

Another vague idea - don't know if it's realistic or not, but what if that flame was a conky, like the BL-Button conky, on top of a plain wallpaper?
This is the current Button:
Then users could move it around to fit their desktop. Or remove it from the conky session.

My artistic skills and good taste is maybe not of the most sophisticated, but want to chime in and just give my opinion on this matter.
Yes @hhh you nailed it. Specially as @johnraff pointed out with the flame-only logo. If that one works well with the theme(s) that I want to use it would be a keeper for me. I prefer solid unobtrusive backgrounds, and for the record, I am slowly moving away from the b/g perspective lately.

^I like @johnraff's idea of using a flame conky to create the background image of [beryllium].
Since everything is in the archives, that's not a problem.
BTW, this is the way to the "Hexentanzplatz" in the Harz, a German low mountain range.
Creating a suitable background image is no problem with this site if you want it "plain and monochrome."

@unklar, gorgeous shot of Germany, and may I please have a link to that textured blue wall with no logo overlays. Thank you!
