November is here again....
This is where you can post screenshots of your setup, as long as it's in line with our somewhat elaborate rules and instructions...
Please use thumbnails. Do not embed images larger than approx 250x250px (62,500px) into posts, use thumbnails linking to a hosted image instead. Thanks!
Various online free image hosts are available, such as Imgur, imgbb, freeimage.host, scrot.cloud, postimg.cc, etc...
Use the following BB code for posting please:
** Update for Imgur users **
Imgur only provides the link to the full image, but just add "t" to the name to get a thumbnail link, and the filename extension eg:
[ img]https://i.imgur.com/7S2EJEgt.png[/img ]
^
Imgur also provides a variety of thumbnail sizes, and the linked BBCode, in the image "View and edit" screen.
imgur wrote:
Sizes: Original · Small Square · Big Square · Small Thumbnail · Medium Thumbnail · Large Thumbnail · Huge Thumbnail
Repeat: To get the linked direct image you need make sure to add the file extension to the url. Their recommended BB code doesn't really convey this properly.
*******************
If you just want to upload a screenshot to Imgur, you can avoid a lot of the url-editing etc if you use the BunsenLabs built-in bl-image-upload utility:
Menu > BL Utilities > Take Screenshot > Imgur - Upload Screenshot > Anonymous Upload (or via Imgur account) > Screenshot Now (or whatever)
Then middle-click in the forum Message window to paste the link:
You can then "Delete" the image if desired, but don't delete the uploaded image if you want to post it
*******************
Once again when choosing a thumbnail size please keep in mind our approx 250x250px (62,500px) thumbnail file size constraints.
Be Excellent to Each Other...

Thought we may have one of these living in the tree out front. SCDNR confirmed it was a native golden silk orb-weaver (commonly called a banana spider):
@hhh - any joro spiders spotted on the coast yet?
You must unlearn what you have learned.

^Those yellow and black spiders are very common here, and I think they're harmless... here anyway. I don't know what ecological damage they might be doing in Georgia.

They're harmless (not accounting for allergic reactions to bites). Main concern here is that they will displace the native species, but they don't seem to be doing that.

I saw it in my news feed, they're infesting Georgia to start.

Nothing in the lowcountry here yet.
Up next... murder hornets! Killer bees! Gypsy moths! Cicadas! Pythons! Warthogs! Alligators! Florida panthers! Coyotes! Lions and tiger and bears!

Been looking at the news releases for LXQt, and this latest review which dubs it "The Best Lightweight Desktop Ever" or something. Looking forward to seeing it in sid, if it isn't there already...

^ I don't use it enough to tell what's new and improved. It's rather basic and plain, IMHO. I'm fortunate I don't have a machine that requires such a light DE. 473MB at startup doesn't seem all that light to me. I just built an ArchLabs machine; 370 MB.

I jest, what user cares about RAM these days? I don't on old hardware. I could run KDE or GNOME, but screw that.

Made a nifty little theme setter to match theme items. Gtk, openbox, Geany and Jgmenu.
Nothing for the user to adjust really, unless messing with the script.
Anybody know if there is a way to reload Geany through command line?
If Geany is open, it won't accept the change. Wouldn't want to killall geany in the middle of work.
Also, I wanted to incorporate Lightdm into the change but stymied by the root issue.
Is there a way to have user settings in Lightdm for themes without root? folder in $HOME somehow?

^Have you looked at xsettingsd? It's now in BL and used by BLOB to reset GTK themes on the fly. You might want to install BL in a VM and have a look at how theme switching is done in BLOB.

Here's a picture of my conky. Using a contraption of scripts and logfiles, it displays the following (top to bottom):
- How much income I've lost today browsing the web instead of working, in big digits.
- How long I've worked today ("heute")
- How long I've worked on three current projects ("Bored" refers to my translation of "Bored of the Rings")
- 4 progress bars: How much time is left in this day/week/year/my life
- 1 progress bar: How productive I've been in the last 10 hours (work on projects divided by uptime)
- uninteresting details
I built this to increase productivity. Does it? Nah...
