On August 15/16 @arpinux released its new ISO's based on Debian 11.
In QEMU this already looks good and I will "upgrade" this on the x40 from 10.7.
That's cool and haven't seen @arpinux around and this release seems to indicate he's still around.

Thank you, for your post. That got my attention that the image links were broken.
I upgraded my nakedeb-1.3(Buster) to the 1.4(Bullseye).
Installed over 100 new packages, updated over 800 packages and removed 17 packages.
Everything went without any problems.
For me as a multiuser, this picture is rare after updating the main bootloader. Mostly you have to do some manual work here too. Additional point for @arpinux.
My precautions for some files in /home were unfounded. I had to spend most of my time fixing my Conky configuration (changed paths of the release files and the platform files of the ThinkPad).
Conky was upgraded from 10.8 to 11.6, with the known RAM bugs of the here triple over-consumption display.

Hmm, maybe something to try on my old 32-bit box when I give up on antiX? Right now the weather is too nice so don't hold your breath.

Yes there's a 32 bit build of NakeDeb for that. May resurrect my old IBM Thinkpad T42 again and use it as a simple netbook/travel computer.

antiX is perfectly suitable for old computers. I had it myself
on the x40 for years before helium and then lithium found its place on it. I could not complain, last antiX17.
What ISO do you have installed? Base, Full or?
By the way, your resolution problem is addressed by @anticapitalista here.

Speaking of clean, I saw this desktop the other day.
The blue is a little strong for me, but the rest is perfect.
Distro: Arch
Wm: Openbox
bar: Polybar
Font: mplus nerd font mono
Launcher: Rofi (and shutdown prompt)
Terminal Emulator: Urxvt
Music Player: Mpd, Ncmpcpp
Other apps: Qutebrowser, neofetch, cava
8bit

So far my resolution of choice (1920x1200) has not shown up in the drop-down list. I can try again.
The fantastic lag is also fascinating. It only is like this for the installed version, not during Live-CD sessions on the same HW.

I tried to follow those instructions. No, does not work at all. Totally ignored.
Base ISO if memory serves. The one that goes on a 700 MB CD. DVD not needed.

I tried to find out antiX's requirements for a computer for you.

Unfortunately I don't know the specs of this Shuttle SK41G, so I tried to figure it out. According to this, it seems to have a graphics driver problem with Linux in general due to its age:

Probably solvable, but will require some work.

Thanks a ton.
This old computer doesn't have to work. I am just fooling around so I am not prepared to invest time on this quest.
I remember there were some graphics issues in the early days (there is even a post from me in one of the forum threads you dug up) but then it when away until now.

Ha, I really like this distro. I have grown a fondness for Fluxbox, but never wanted to learn how to configure it. This is a great take on Fluxbox, with Debian Stable (best OS in the world) as base. I put it in a WM, I might even nuke my Arch with Gnome install for this on real hardware.

Slow down, everything has its place in linux. Fluxbox is really a show, I use it for many years through antiX. I find it easier to configure than openbox.
Still, everything is a matter of taste.

@el_koraco,
You could also instead of running Arch with Gnome, just install Fluxbox here.
This works well, too.

I could, but the only reason I am using Arch is because of Gnome. If I switch away from Gnome, I might as well get to the super safe embrace of Debian Stable.

^This is the way it is. I've never had anything with Gnome (except at the beginning for three weeks). I hate the stinky foot.

I've never had anything with Gnome (except at the beginning for three weeks). I hate the stinky foot.
When I left Redhat for Suse, in the late 90's, there was no other alternative.
KDE had problem with their software-license. Other options was quite unfriendly.
But, Gnome evolved in an direction I did not like. After evaluating many options I finaly settled for Openbox. Not for hatred of Gnome, but for love of Openbox...
There's a saying around here, "Tailor, stick to your last."
Unklar, was you not from germany? "Tailor, stick to your last", sounds like a bad translation of the the swedish saying "Skomakare bliv vid din läst". I don't know the correct translation for "läst". In this connectionds, is it a "shoemaker form". A wooden form of a fot, to form the shoe around. "Skomakare bliv vid din läst" can be translated to "shoemaker stick to what you know".
It is a bad proverb. Better to explore and adopt what you like...
I made an net search for "Tailor, stick to your last". did not found any link to that, but to "Cobbler, stick to your last." That is: "Do what you are familiar with, experienced in, or skilled at; don't attempt, interfere with, or give advice about something you are unfamiliar with."
I think that proverb was created in an feudal society, with strict social borders.

Problem solved!
All I had to do was to apply more force.
OK, so I didn't tell you about the Nvidia GPU board I bought from a colleague 10+ years ago? I tried use it now thinking it would be more modern and more likely to work. Strangely enough it was not picked up by antiX or any other distro. Today I decided to open the box and inspect. I found that GPU board could be push down a little more and that was all it took. I now have a snappy GUI with 1920x1200 resolution.
