[DONE] Boron suggestions

With Debian Bullseye due for release very soon, we are focussing on getting the BL Beryllium release ready as soon as possible. This means that suggestions which require discussion and more than a few minutes of coding should preferably go here, to be considered for Boron.

I assume it's the next release of Bunsen after Beryllium, because boron follows beryllium in the periodic table (if you jump over the big blue block to the right of and below it);

I see in last days a form to view images on terminal - xterm, and for see videos in terminal with a tools like →

I test in my actual system but I cant configure that i I can't do this work,maybe is an iteresting thing to add to make more atractive the terminal of our Bunsenlabs, in my opinion is very good.
I also use bpytop here and is great, there are also a gotop like htop but with other appearance.

In other way today I see a youtube stream about on openbox distro and a user cooment that the distro dont have any graphic tool to edit mouse sensitivity then I search on my Bunsenlabs to see if I find anything and I als donte see any tool, other user comment to install lxinput. (Maybe is a interesting thing to think also for people that use games).
Take a look if posible on sixel and if is interesting maybe come in the next release if the developers have time and like the idea to implement it in Bunsenlabs.

Is it possible to replace Ristretto with another image viewer?, as it is not possible to edit the images.

^Yes it's very easy to change the default image viewer.

If your choice is one of:
eog eom geeqie gpicview gthumb mirage viewnior
then simply install it and remove ristretto. It will be set as bl-image-viewer automatically.

If it's not in that list then after installation, open Menu>System>Edit Debian Alternatives, go to bl-image-viewer, right-click "ristretto", then "new". Enter the path to the application eg /usr/bin/eog
This function of galternatives is a bit buggy, and if you can't set bl-image-viewer that way you'll have to read up on 'man update-alternatives' and do it via the terminal.

Or use one of the apps in the above list.

If you are on Lithium/Buster, you do not need to change image viewer.
No image viewer are able to edit images. But, you can from Ristrettos menu: Edit => Open with ..., send viewed image to gimp or other image editor.

We gave some discussion to the best choice of default image viewer - there are many options out there - but finally went with ristretto because it's reasonably light and fast, and has a biggish developer (xfce) and user base, so should stay maintained for a while.

As with terminal emulators and text editors, the discussion of which is "best" has no end, so we try to choose something "vanilla" for default. As rbh pointed out, with ristretto it's easy to open an image in some external editor like gimp, and as I pointed out, it's easy to change the default application for something else.

But, suggestions are always welcome, and @exe thank you for yours!

Wait till Tin...that's the shortest element name...and that's a LOOOONG way off...

As Tin is element 50, that has to be about 96 years out by Debian release standards.

If you want a newer version I would suggest looking in the MX Linux repos.
MX 21 is their name for the Bullseye based coming release and they already have nomacs 3.17 packaged for it.
