Re: Distro-hoppers anonymous

Aren't the changes to the bootorder happening through UEFI? So, the distro itself accesses UEFI (how exacrtly I do not know) and UEFI then changes the bootorder?
And a BIOS that doesn't use UEFI won't be affected?

Give to COVAX! Here or here. (explanation)

Re: Distro-hoppers anonymous

For those of us with older (pre-2012) computers or motherboards; is this a good reason to stick with BIOS rather than trying to upgrade the firmware to UEFI if you're using Debian or a Debian-based distro?

Oh thought the original DXT2 was based on Debian Buster so must now been rebased on Void. Void seems like an interesting distro considering it has its own package manager called xbps and uses runit as its init system.

Re: Distro-hoppers anonymous

I'm trying Peppermint 10 at the moment, which has a tool called ICE that allows web based applications to be packaged and integrated into the standard Linux desktop. It's a neat idea IMO;

Peppermint's base is Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, which still works well and is covered for security updates another couple of years.

[EDIT: I actually prefer Ubuntu 18 LTS to 20 LTS at the  moment; it's a more mature product and doesn't seem to have as many issues on my machine.]

Yup, I've been running Archcraft since Aug last year. Like it a lot. Scrot to follow when I can...

Major update released.

(if a mod wants to move this to Distro Hoppers, that would make sense)

Re: Distro-hoppers anonymous

^ I put it on hold for a while.

Just installed the new version; especially wanted to check out the new features like Manage Printers:

scrot.th.png

The project is promising, but still too young: single developer, not enough users to find out the issues, no forums to get help, etc.

Think installing that package should also pull in cups as well if not already installed.
