Just downloaded Regolith and am using it now. It's a good concept and I really like the big and clear status bar at the bottom, but I don't think it's 100% stable yet (I've already had a white "screen of death" when I tried to launch something from the menu, though my experience of other distros suggests that my computer seems to be more prone to that happening than others may be). Still, it's worth a try if you like tiled window managers.

Actually, Debian is the actor, not BL. Debian is aggressive like that. Will take over any and all swap partitions unless specifically told not to.
Told ya so.
Thanks for your effort @eight.bit.al
However, you are mistaken.
Not only Linux does this, but also the M$ Window.
UEFI provides its own boot manager, which makes loading boot loaders for UEFI-supported file systems possible. The management of a set boot entries already in the platform firmware is the objective of the UEFI boot manager.[2] This menu allows selection of all UEFI conformant boot media that are available to the system. For this, the boot loader sequence is stored in the persistent NVRAM.
You can see it as a feature or as a BUG of the uefi-firmware. The opinions go there in this regard apart.
Solution of the problem should be efibootmgr.

this is a very windowsy move by Debian.

Clear Linux OS - Intel's own Linux.
https://clearlinux.org/
UEFI firmware only. Strike one. Gnome only. Strike two.
Optimized for Intel hardware. The fastest Linux ¹ - sorry, Arch and Gentoo users.
Even AMD recommends running benchmarks of its new CPUs
under Clear Linux in order to get the highest scores.
No Appearance section, no dark mode. Strike three:
At least all the apps are on one page:
¹ https://openbenchmarking.org/result/200 … &obr_sor=y
Scroll down the page a good bit. Benchmarks are a bit old.

edit: nice, simple installer, pleasure to work with.

Aren't the changes to the bootorder happening through UEFI? So, the distro itself accesses UEFI (how exacrtly I do not know) and UEFI then changes the bootorder?
And a BIOS that doesn't use UEFI won't be affected?

For those of us with older (pre-2012) computers or motherboards; is this a good reason to stick with BIOS rather than trying to upgrade the firmware to UEFI if you're using Debian or a Debian-based distro?

Oh thought the original DXT2 was based on Debian Buster so must now been rebased on Void. Void seems like an interesting distro considering it has its own package manager called xbps and uses runit as its init system.

^ It was, you're correct. He's mad at Debian for their reaction to the Stallman issue, so Debian's out; Void is in.

I'm trying Peppermint 10 at the moment, which has a tool called ICE that allows web based applications to be packaged and integrated into the standard Linux desktop. It's a neat idea IMO;

Peppermint's base is Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, which still works well and is covered for security updates another couple of years.
[EDIT: I actually prefer Ubuntu 18 LTS to 20 LTS at the moment; it's a more mature product and doesn't seem to have as many issues on my machine.]

Yup, I've been running Archcraft since Aug last year. Like it a lot. Scrot to follow when I can...
Major update released.

Yup, having a look now. Did you get to the bottom of your lockup issue?

^ I put it on hold for a while.
Just installed the new version; especially wanted to check out the new features like Manage Printers:

The project is promising, but still too young: single developer, not enough users to find out the issues, no forums to get help, etc.

From that screenshot, is cups installed?

Think installing that package should also pull in cups as well if not already installed.
