edit:
I installed it. The installer is much improved over what he used to use. I don't know the name of the installer, but I've seen it before.
Extras icon on the desktop:https://scrot.cloud/images/2021/02/10/nice0.th.png
But still rough edges like the installer icon on the installed desktop. And the GTK apps don't honor the theme.
Looks nice much like BL but with XFCE WM rather than Openbox. Think the theming issues can be easily fixed however.

What exactly is the problem?
You say "GTK apps don't honour the theme"? Which theme? Is it a GTK theme? Which apps? Are they GTK2 or GTK3? Does the theme contain both GTK2 and GTK3 themes?

I have resurrected my Gentoo installation from a couple of months ago. I got Firefox working on it, and I even managed to upgrade the Linux kernel. It's now on 5.4.97 - woo hoo! 5,10 is both stable and LTS, but Gentoo hasn't gone to it, yet. I know you can go to "vanilla" kernel, but they recommend against it.

Why would you if your hardware doesn't require it? Honest question. Esp. since the 5.4 LTS series is still alive.
Archlinux' LTS kernel is also "still" 5.4.97.

I take the liberty of pointing out the NEW siduction.

I used and liked Siduction for a year or two a few years back. They were a great group of people, too.

Good to hear there's a new siduction release. I was a user of siduction in the past as well as it's ancestors sidux and aptosid. The IRC channel may be quiet but if you need help that's a useful place as well as the siduction forums.

Former aptosid user here. Whether you upgrade manually from Debian stable to sid, use a Siduction ISO or get a sid setup in some other way, the Siduction forum is an incredible resource for any sid user.

Back in the Statler days of CrunchBang there was an Xfce version, I still miss it.
This may work out to be a base for a substitute.

DXT2-1.2 is up:

And it's sister Xevuan-1.2 based on Devian (minus Sythtemd):

Preseed install versions only. Live versions to come.

@8bit, that looks nice, and you testing BL packages with Xevuan and how well do they work? I might test drive Devuan base with BL packages to see if I can build a nice Devuan-BL.

I've upgraded Lithium to Sid with only a few hiccups but with a few fixes got everything BL working great on Sid. The latest BL packages work great on Sid so it should be not an ordeal if anyone's adventurous enough to upgrade to Sid.

Sorry, I didn't make it clear. This is a stock install. (other than the theme/icons) The creator of Xevuan added the BL repo.

Ohh that's a nice touch and bet the dev of DXT2/Xevuan must be a BL fan too.

So, this is not really distro-hopping but terminal hopping:
First I left my trusty rxvt-unicode for xterm.
Then I wanted T/OTF fonts, and saw that xterm doesn't perform so well there.
Then I thought I'd try some of those newfangled hardware-accelarated terminals.
Kitty is pretty cool, it can do many things beyond being just a terminal...
Then I found zutty (sic) and read a long article about how it is generally so much better than other terminal emulators. Yep, that guy is opinionated. Try to find the bit where he essentially tells potential contributors to drop it until it's well formulated and thought through.
But on the other hand he applies these same standards to his own work I presume, and he is eating his own dog food.
I then spent a long time comparing vector font rendering on alacritty, kitty, xterm and zutty - and zutty currently looks best. It's usable and stable enough and configurable via Xresources.
It just might become my new default.
