I'd ask the usual basic questions, but I don't want to insult.

Interesting; a very KB oriented GNOME. I find i3 keybinds hard to remember.

Edit: Getting used to the keybinds. It's nice, Gnome without the ugly UI part.

ISO copied to USB, it installed but WiFi wouldn't work and it seemed buggy on the very old laptop. I decided not to spend more time on it, though I probably could have gotten it working. I added an openbsd-cwm session running lxpanel to my (newer but still old laptop) Buster Cinnamon install instead...

My annual waste of time with Gentoo.

I like to set it up with git based portage and systemd as the init system. They do have some productive things going these days like the new binary kernels and firefox (this has been around for a while, building it with rust is the most painful thing imaginable, building rust that is, then building it). I'm considering the binaries but probably won't, after all if it's not source based all the way it's pointless.

I'm just rebuilding @world in the screenie optimized for -march=skylake, "native" is to ambiguous.

The one thing I appreciate about Gentoo is that everything takes so "long" that you consider everything you do and then you don't get in a hurry because you gotta be patient. It's kind of like computer fishing when you can't go fishing due to the weather. It was my first linux distro believe it or not and it has everything the other distros have now except for instant gratification.

Had a rush of blood and installed Arch (using anarchy installer to make it easier), bspwm as window manager. So far so good.

Using pywal to generate urxvt/polybar colours from the wallpaper, it's pretty handy!

Would it be possible to install b43 and fwcutter while in the live session connected to a hard line?

Btw, Did you ever figure out where to put(or already know), the b43 firmware in a build setup? Still can't figure that out.

Can you get the deb packages you need and keep them on a thumb drive for post install?

^Playing with QEMU and the ISO's xorg (comes with fluxbox) and lxde (comes with openbox) from siduction, both in amd64 architecture.

Very handy I found that in the live ISO's you can deselect unneeded packages beforehand, which are then not installed with. I did that for example with the packages of the firmware-b43-xxx.

This time I didn't choose the cli installer. Calamares was my favorite, which does the installation steps in the manual variant much more logical/simpler than the cli installer. Also it shortens the preparation of the installation a lot.

and create an image dir in /home/user to bring you these scrots.

The installer does not ask for user data/passwd, root passwd, or host name; and other odd features.

^ That's a glitterslth question, but it says BMW right on the side of it. Is this a remake of Snatch and my bike says BMW-superRacer-Replica or 55 SE Hemi Replica or Dual Doppler Vortex Radar Replica on the side and you start to ridicule my shriveling nuts?
