BTW: is anyone able to show me how to extract the assets of a gressource?
naik --greetz
I assume this is a theming question regarding gresource.
My advice, don't even flipping bother, the whole method is so messed up.
Fortunately, oomox will create new themes (both GTK3 and 2 [the 2 theme needs some small post-creation tweaks] and icons, if you want) in a GUI without having to extract any files...
https://github.com/themix-project/oomox
It takes a bit of time to figure it out, and generating a theme takes 20 minutes and then you still have to rename things in the new index file, and rename the theme's folder, but it's a nice piece of software. All of my Lithium GTK2/3 themes were produced using it.
Let me know if you need advice or even a full walk-through.

You are right. While trying to keep as much of the original BL-Lithium themeing and just only changing the accent color from red to #3A727E (green?) I found it is made as "binary theme" using a gtk.gresource and though I was able to extract the *.css files I was unable to ectract the related /asstes/*.png files, but ended up with something unreadable.
Oomox is in deed what I ended up using, but I considred it a bit of a dirty hack would have liked to make clean new start. Is there another way to obtain the mentioned assets?
Do you mind if we add the scrot to the www.bunsenlabs.org screenshot gallery? There is a lack of custom Lithium scrots on there.
I'm flattered you asked, but though I even pixaleted the hands for SFWiness, I totaly understand that this might be inappropriate.
May I rediect you to one (or both) of this:

There used to be, the devs hadn't updated this info since and it's like 3 to 5 or maybe even 6 to 8 years old.
First, the doc...
https://developer.gnome.org/gtk3/stable … Files.html
Second, the possible Internet-provided hacks?
https://securitronlinux.com/debian-test … e-editing/
An ol'-skool link...
https://blogs.gnome.org/alexl/2012/01/2 … s-in-glib/
2015, old again...
https://askubuntu.com/questions/572511/ … ource-file
2019, this might help you...
https://discuss.getsol.us/d/1237-how-do … -gtk-theme
I can't even find the really original dev "documentation" on extracting gresource. It's getting old now in computer years (6-8 or so?), and absolutely outdated at this point.
So it seems the consensus at the moment is to submit bug reports to oomox, because it's currently a fairly hassle-free solution.

How could anyone imagine that a cartoon raising its middle finger might be deemed inappropriate in 2020?
Great screenshots, great customisation, Just Say Yes!

^^ Your very last link led me to this arc-theme repo where I got what I needed. Thank You!
^ If it is only for me: go ahead! Take one or the other, never mind... But it IS a show I am not looking with my son.. ;-)

Grab the icons, too...

-edit- Here it is on Cinnamon. Some clunky icons but the theme looks great.

^ Lovely as well! I do miss the finesse of Plasma, but I still prefer GTK and I love the simplicity of Cinnamon's settings GUI. And the compositing is superb.
-edit- On topic, a screenshot wallpaper from John Carpenter's Escape from New York.

That one is begging for some sweet terminal colors. Anyone?
I haven't tried this in a long time. Not as lurid as I'd hoped for, but not too bad...
I tried running the script without pasting any content to it. Oops.

@nili
Is Miyazaki’s kin keeping it going after the wind rises? That was my favorite he ever made.

Thanks you too
@cog, well after The Wind Rises (2013) they did the same year "The Tale of the Princess Kaguya" "2014 When Marnie Was There" "2016 The Red Turtle", and it is almost ready "Earwig and the Witch this December" and another one is in the announcement for 2023.
See my sign/wiki
Pleasantly let me recommend you When Marnie Was There
P.S. Grave of the Fireflies is my all time favorite.
